April 25, 2019
Are protein supplements doing my young athlete any good? Are they even safe, let alone helping them develop and grow? As the mother of a collegiate swimmer, this is a subject close to my heart that has come up in my own family. To help suss out the answers to those questions, I have an expert on the show this week with young athletes of his own, and I canāt wait for you to hear his eye-opening insights into protein supplementation.
Dr. Phillips is an amazing researcher in the field of protein and exercise. He is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology and School of Medicine at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Phillips is also a Tier 1 Research Chair in skeletal muscle health in aging, as well as the director of the Physical Activity Center of Excellence.
